Breast augmentation procedure

Preparation

In a personal consultation, we will inform you in detail about the procedure, possible risks and the correct aftercare. Ideally, you should refrain from taking blood-thinning medication and smoking for 1-2 weeks before the treatment.

The intervention

The procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis and, depending on the
procedure used, either in twilight sleep or under general anesthesia. Depending on the method, the operation takes around 1.5 hours. In some cases, an overnight stay in hospital may be necessary.

In the case of breast augmentation with implants, these can be inserted via various approaches. As standard, a 3-4 cm incision is made in the underbust crease. Depending on the initial situation and personal wishes, access via the armpit or areola is also possible. The decision is made after a personal and comprehensive consultation.

In breast augmentation with autologous fat, fatty tissue is first removed from another part of the body. After special preparation, the fat cells are then injected into the breast tissue.

Aftercare

Allow your body to rest for a few days after the procedure. We can ensure that healing is progressing optimally through regular follow-up checks at

Your body is unique. The reasons for breast augmentation are just as individual. Many women naturally have small breasts; the most common causes are therefore genetic. Pregnancy or significant weight loss can also result in smaller, sagging breasts. At the same time, volume and shape change with age.

Methods of breast augmentation

Dr. Tremp offers various methods of breast augmentation. The optimal choice always depends on the individual requirements and wishes of the patient.

Breast augmentation with implants

The most common procedure is breast augmentation with implants. The breast implants we use are filled with a dimensionally stable silicone gel. They are leak-proof and have a textured surface, which enables optimal ingrowth and reduces the risk of capsular fibrosis.

Basically, you can choose between two different implant shapes:

  • The anatomical (teardrop-shaped) implant enables breast augmentation with a very natural result.
  • Round implants, on the other hand, emphasize the upper breast area and lead to a fuller décolleté.

Breast augmentation with autologous fat

If only a moderate increase in volume is desired or if there is slight asymmetry, breast augmentation with autologous fat (lipofilling) is also possible. We take fat tissue from the abdomen, thighs or hips and inject it into the breast. However, this method is only suitable if there are sufficient fat reserves. It is not possible to greatly enlarge the breast with lipofilling.

There are no clear scientific findings. However, regular screening examinations are still important, as breast implants can easily influence the interpretation of mammograms.
